  1. Personification: Any answer should be as close as possible to the question’s author. You can address them by name or, if the question was asked anonymously, use the information they provide (like a website, screenshots, analytics of the site, company name, etc.).
  2. Visuals: This is a necessary part of a good answer. However, it doesn’t mean you should add pictures everywhere. Only attach informative screenshots or illustrations that help better explain the essence of your answer.
  3. Formatting: Using lists, bolding key phrases, and other formatting techniques can be more effective than a lengthy 3,000-character answer filled with empty images.
  4. Avoid «We»: Steer clear of using terms like «we», «us» or «in our company». Answers should be written in the first person without generalizing language. Don’t hesitate to take responsibility for the content you post.
  5. Full Size: Your answer should be at least 300 characters long. This helps both Quora users and the ranking system accept your response better, even if you’re aiming to write something simple and concise.
  6. Native Link: If your answer contextually requires a link to a website or product, include it. Just be mindful not to overdo it with links.
  7. Links to Other Participants: If you wish to quote someone from the discussion in your answer, do so. This makes your comment appear more natural.
  8. Non-targeted Links: If your answer does not require a link to your target site but could benefit from a link to a tool, service, or product, don’t ignore that opportunity.
  9. «Thanks for the Question»: If Quora itself sent the question to you, be sure to thank the author. This is a common courtesy that also ties back to personification.
  10. Storytelling: The Quora audience, like those on many other platforms, enjoys real-life stories. Your answer should be rooted in genuine experience.

How to Add an Image to a Reply

As I mentioned earlier, to make your answer on Quora as comprehensive as possible, you need to include a visual element (such as a picture, screenshot, infographic, etc.).

Remember, your image must be unique and provide value. Avoid using generic stock images. This is crucial because the image will help distinguish your answer from many others.

But how can you do this if you’re using Quora for the first time?

It’s actually quite simple. By clicking on «Answer» under a question, you will see a straightforward and user-friendly editor. This editor allows you to format text, add links, quotes, images, and tag discussion participants-all with just one click:

What to do if the answer was hidden or deleted

Sometimes Quora moderators hide or delete your answers. There are three reasons for this:

  • If the answer received too many upvotes (yes, this also happens).
  • If the moderator decided that your answer did not fully cover the topic and suggested making some changes, but you did not respond to this in a timely manner.
  • If you have not confirmed your account name or email.

At the same time, the first reason requires an individual approach, and the other two can be solved without problems.

In addition to Serpstat, you can also use Ahrefs. Enter Quora in Ahrefs and navigate to the «Top Pages» tab. Here, you can view estimated organic traffic, the number of keywords, the top keyword, search volume, and ranking position. The list can also be exported.

View the Weekly Number of Question Views Using Quora’s Advertising Manager

To help advertisers choose which content to promote, Quora provides a report of weekly views for the selected question.

How to do it?

Go to your Quora Ads Manager (be sure to disable your ad blocker beforehand). You’ll be asked to fill out information about yourself as an advertiser and your content. Since you’re only interested in viewing question stats, feel free to enter random data.

This is straightforward. Visit the target community, review the top posts, and analyze the authors behind them.

Who are they, what do they do, and most importantly, what is their style of answering questions and key points? You could write better or offer more detailed and well-supported opinions. Analyzing competitors, even if they are not direct ones, is always beneficial.

If you’re serious about it, you can analyze the authors in the chosen community.

Each time you answer a targeted question, Quora will suggest popular similar questions. With this strategy, it’s important to start wisely.

Choose any of the methods mentioned above to select the right question. By answering it, you’ll set off the chain.

Alternatively, go to the «Answers» tab, where you’ll find a curated list of questions based on your interests.

However, remember to answer only the questions where you can truly provide a complete, detailed, and most importantly, accurate response. Otherwise, your reputation could be significantly harmed.

How to Get More Upvotes on Quora

Upvotes are «votes in favor».

They are the primary goal for many company representatives on Quora.

Earlier, I mentioned several rules for writing answers. However, more than simply following these rules is needed to earn upvotes from the audience.

What else?

  1. Answer questions (to which you genuinely know the answer) not only thoroughly but also as quickly as possible. To achieve this, you’ll need to regularly monitor the chosen topics.
  2. If you didn’t manage to be the first to answer, avoid duplicating the previous comment. If you have something to add, that’s great. Your answer might just fulfill the need.
  3. Consider using the AIDA formula in your response: Attention (grab attention) – Interest (the main content that sparks interest) – Desire (bringing it to the goal) – Action (a call to action).

Connect Facebook

Link your Facebook account to your Quora profile. This will make it easy to share your answers and gain more attention and upvotes.
